“Auckland Hiring IT” is an international job expo for the ICT industry to address the sector’s skills shortfall.  Delivered jointly by Accelerating Auckland and the Department of Labour’s Immigration Service, this successful public-private collaboration matches employers and vacancies in the Auckland region with skilled migrants seeking employment. 

How Auckland Hiring IT works

Engagement - Department of Labour’s Immigration Service direct markets migrants with identified skills and experience in an IT occupation. Candidates are invited to pre-register with a profile of their skills, qualifications and experience at the event web page.

Pre-registration – In the month ahead of Auckland Hiring IT employers selected as event partners are emailed registration updates including candidate profiles and contact details.

Seminars – The Auckland Hiring IT web page holds a schedule of employer seminars providing details on employment opportunities and expectations. Candidates are encouraged to register to attend these seminars.

Interviewing – Using the candidate profiles and contact details provided in the registration updates, employers schedule interviews with candidates for event day. Employers may nominate candidates they meet at seminars for interviews on the day.
